Induction at 39 weeks

So, I had a telemed appointment with my OB today and he recommended an induction at 39 weeks. He stated that the risk for a stillborn increases after 39 weeks. I really don’t want an induction. I also feel like this is more for convenience of the hospital due to COVID 19. I had this same OB with my daughter a few years ago and he was completely against an induction before 41 weeks with her. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Also, if you were inducted how did it go? I’ve had a low risk pregnancy thus far.
