Is it time to give up? Or keep fighting?
So I’m 21, about to be a super senior in college and graduating in December.
My boyfriend just turned 20, and is about to be a junior.
We have been dating 6 months.
When in school our relationship was super easy, he lived 15 minutes from campus and my apartment, and we saw and talked to eachother all the time.
Around February his parents started cracking down on his grades and we saw eachother less.
Now, after this lockdown, we havnt really spoken to eachother period.
Lock down is a ew days from being lifted in my state, so I’ve been trying to make plans. About a week ago he started house sitting a place. It’s his first time living away from home, and he also started a job in construction on windmills, something he’s never done.
We live 40 mins from eachother, and he thinks it’s a massive distance and has always hated to drive it. He’s come up 5 times, however, 3 were family holidays where he met all my family.
Early on we made it clear that we expected this to b our last relationship, and were madly in love, and I still am.
But recently when I’ve tried making plans he’s “too tired”
I brought up me coming to his place after work and staying the night, and he said “idk” I asked about which one “ both, I’m just so busy when I get home” and I asked if they was something I could do, like clean or cook, he goes “nothing, just want to relax”
My mom thinks he’s given up because it’s no longer convenient for him and that we are just at two different points in our life. I want to keep trying. I think he’s just overwhelmed with everything happening.
I’m just not certain what to do.
*i forgot to state that he’s always the one to initiate conversations
