School while pregnant?

I’m only 5 weeks and I was wondering if it’s a smart idea to go to school? I know I will most likely only be able to do one semester as if I take another the baby will come within that time. I’m going to school for clinical medical assistant which takes about a year. I want to at least get a start.. I want to accomplish something.. I had a baby 7 months ago and here’s baby number 2. It happened it’s already in the making god bless and spare. But I want to at least accomplish some type of degree! please help me. Opinions are very well welcomed

Finish school! Unless you mentally and physically can’t handle just push and do what you think is best for you!

In my opinion, it’s better to wait about school since you won’t be able to finish what you start. If you start it now and then have to wait another year or so to finish, what you’ve already done might not count or something and you don’t want to waste money.
Either get a job now that you dont need to go to school for, or get a shorter certification that you can finish before Baby gets here. Like do an accelerated CNA course, you can finish that in a month or so, then work as CNA for a few months, have the baby and then go back to work when you’re ready. Then you can do the program that you really want to do once both of your babies are school age.
I’m in a similar boat. My babe is 8 months old and we’re TTC #2 but also trying to make plans for me to go to school. Ultimately I think it’s the better choice to have our babies close together and for me to stay home with them and then go to school when they’re a bit older.

Don’t put off school! Most professors are very encouraging and understanding about children. I’ve taken my kid to class with me (from ages two to four). A professor even offered to babysit so I could work on an assignment. Of course, that’s my experience and not everyone has awesome professors, but it’s so much harder to go back to school after you put it off. It’s a lot to juggle with a small kid and school, but not impossible- especially with online schooling and making your own schedule. Use ratemyprofessor.com when scheduling classes, because you can find out if the professors are hard on students or more relaxed. I am 17 weeks pregnant with my second, and will be finished with my bachelors degree in July. I plan to take a few weeks to get my daughter used to going to school (it’ll be her first year) and then I plan to go straight into my Master’s degree. I won’t take any time off when the baby is born. My kids are my motivation to do well and to get through as much education as possible. I’m also graduating with a 3.5 GPA and will be an honor graduate. It IS possible! It’s so rewarding!

I would take one semester then finish the last semester once you have the baby and get a rhythm going. You don’t want to start the second semester, give birth and not be able to keep up with it. Better safe than sorry. My SIL is crazy into school and she did one semester then took one off because she needed to find a schedule that would work for her new baby. I’m not sure how things are at the school or program you will be attending, but here we have “late start” classes as well as fast track classes. These are exactly what they sound like. Late start means your class begins a few weeks later than the normal semester and the fast track is a speedy course which is like 8 weeks instead of 16. If you have fast track classes maybe you can knock a few more classes out before the baby is due. Good luck you can do this!

Nope do it all at once. You will also a ton of hands on stuff that coincides with your normal lecture classes and if you take a break between them it'll be like starting over and having to refresh everything.  I took an xray/MA course as well and the MA portion was actually really easy and fun so it shouldnt be too hard to manage once you can find day care for your child.

I was in grad school when my first came. I took a 2 week break after having her and went right back. That was just 1 baby though and I had some awesome professors. 
I would start if there was a feasible way for you to return quickly. I would also contact the program and see if that is even something they would allow.

I’m 21 weeks and going back. I did one semester right out of high school and I’m taking more classes this fall semester. If they have online classes, look into those. I think in person classes will be tricky because childcare with covid is questionable and potentially not reliable.
