Welfare check

I called the police on an acquaintance of mine for a welfare check (5/22) because he just out of the blue told me that he was going to end his life. I haven’t received anything back yet from anyone. Will the call me tomorrow? (5/23). I don’t have much information on the guy. I care deeply a lot about his wellbeing but I really don’t want to be involved anymore than I’ve already been.

I do have a friend who is a cop, and my father knows the law. they both said that since I don’t know him like that they may or may not report back.
