Lactose intolerant?

How can I tell if my baby is lactose intolerant or if it’s something in my diet that’s not agreeing with her? For the past week-week and a half she’s had diarrhea, gas, spits up a lot, seems to have a hard time getting comfortable after eating, kicks her legs and cries a lot, doesn’t like to be on her tummy. She will be 4 weeks old next week but was also born 4.5 weeks early.

It would be milk protein intolerance: as breastmilk itself has more lactose than regular cow milk. 
And how do you know it’s diarrhea?? It’s very hard to distinguish regular breastmilk poops from diarrhea. Gas is normal and they have to learn how to relax the muscles to poop. So they have to relax.

My baby did the exact same thing when she was 3 weeks old. She could be very gassy, not lactose tolerant. And what color is her poop? At three weeks, they are going to poop a lot because their body is getting rid of what was ingested while they were in the womb. Once your baby gets one month, he or she will not poop everyday or may only poop once a day. A breastfed baby can go up to twenty one days without pooping which is normal. Their body is storing fat and plus breast milk is for our babies so there’s really no need for there to be any “waste” in their bodies. My baby is three months and she’s been having a bowel movement everyday now since I’ve been eating foods that are high in fiber. Oatmeal, chia seeds and spinach. I also eat a lot of fruit as well that are high in antioxidants. Spinach can make it a little harder for breastfed babies to poop but eating a lot of fruit will help make it easier for your baby to poop. If you are comfortable, try giving your baby some gas medicine of your choice. There’s an organic brand as well.
