(i’m sorry if this is in the wrong category)

this is super embarrassing but,

i’m having a really hard time making girl friends. i’ve been surrounded by males throughout my teenage years and now i’m almost 21 and i’m the only female at my work.

my boyfriend doesn’t want me having male friends anymore bc of some trust issues (please don’t single this part out, my main issue is the girl friend problem, i know i have problems within my relationship bc of this).

but today i decided to take the first step and ask the wife of a guy that i work with, if she’d be chill to hangout out with me for today. i’ve met her a few times and i thought she was cool.

she is but idk if it was me or what because i was so uncomfortable the entire time. and i kept trying to think of things to talk about with her but it didn’t click.

and i know i shouldn’t expect to be friends with someone i just hung out with but the entire thing was so awkward i don’t know if i’d ever do it again.

so my question is, how the heck do you make friends with girls ? the last girl i was friends with was someone i’ve known since 8th grade but we had a falling out in my sophomore year because she was spreading rumors about me. ever since then i haven’t had any female friends. and like i said i’m 21 now, i just want like one or something idk.
