Worsening depression because of IUD?

Hello all. I got my iud our in about three months ago and since then I have had three episodes in the past MONTH. Like crying, wishing I was dead episodes. Normally I’ll get one every few months but not like this. I can’t figure out if it’s the iud making it worse or I’ve recently picking up smoking (pot) and though that could also have something to do with it as I am on zoloft.

I have depression and my iud hasn't made it worse. You shouldnt be smoking pot while taking an antidepressant wbecause it makes the antidepressant less effective. Quit pot. My husband used to smoke to the point of being suicidal. Its the pot.

I think you should talk to your ob. I dont have depression or any history of it. However, im 8 months pp and have had Mirena for 6 months. I had a little bit of baby blues, but i seriously think I have had some VeRY dark thoughts since having this iud inserted. I was on depo in my early 20s for nearly a decade and i never felt like this. Im scared tbh. 
Im breastfeeding and cannot go back on my regular low dose estrogen based pill. For you, it may be a good idea to consider another form of bc. GL
