Getting divorced: where to live?

So, it's gotten that far, we are divorcing.

I am going to be a single mum of one darling little girl.

I have an appointment to look at an apartment so I can properly compare the price difference between staying put or moving on. My heart says it might be better to move to something smaller and restart, my head says if I can I should stay put as I can always move in the future when things are settled but perhaps i should try to keep this house.

I have reached out to get an idea of what additional help I can get.

What would you do? Stay in a house that for the price is a good amount of space, including a garden but is what was the marital home. Or move to a small apartment with no outdoor space, with a young growing child who may quickly be too big for the small space.
