So i haven’t seen this posted yet. If it has been I’ll gladly delete.
But i came across this story and it left me kind of horrified.
This YouTube family adopted a baby boy from China. Three years later they decided his disabilities are too much and “rehomed” him to someone they felt were a better fit.
I’m happy the boy will be with a family who doesn’t see him as disposable.
But i am utterly disgusted that this family felt because he was adopted that it’s acceptable to move him to another home because they felt burdened by his disabilities. Would she have done the same thing if it were a child she had birthed with those same disabilities? Of course not. If you open your heart to and home adopt you better hold that child just as close to you as you would a baby that was birthed by you. I’m left feeling like she used him for content 🤷♀️
Also to add as I’m coming across more info- they went the “special focus” route. Which is a program specifically for children that are hard to adopt out due to disabilities/behavioral issues.
