“Accidental” murder?

In my town, for a few years now, I have been following a case where a special needs child who was deaf was trying to board the school bus & someone I KNOW hit them & ultimately killed them. They passed a stopped school bus and the bus had their flashers on with the stop sign out & there were 3 cars behind the school bus that he would’ve had to have passed. The cars behind the school bus even stated numerous times that even they saw the school bus & said that he came around them flying.

Today, he got sentenced to TWO years. That’s it. The family agreed to this sentence and says they don’t hold a grudge against him as their son would say “accidents happen, it’s ok.” I commend the parents who lost their child & with them agreeing to this plea deal, it took a lot of bravery from their side to be able to forgive & agree to this.

My question is... Do you believe this was an accident?

Many people are defending the man who hit this child which brings me to wonder could it have been an accident? My personal opinion is no. I can see a yellow bus with flashing lights. It wasn’t raining that day but it was somewhat foggy.
