Is this health insurance reasonable?

I have to decided by Friday if I want to join my works health insurance and I don’t know if I should. It is $170 a month and has a $7500. It does not cover a lot of things and is more like a “Catastrophic type of insurance” then you can add dental and vision if you want. Is this even worth it or should I find insurance somewhere else?

I pay 124 a month and my deductiable is 2,700 max out of pocket 4,000. Once my daughter is added i will be paying 260ish for deductiable of 2,700 max out of pocket of 4,000

I work for a big health insurance company and I can say that you’ll most likely get a better deal getting coverage with your employer rather than just you individually—not to say you won’t, but from what I see at least. Our individual plans are astronomically higher than plans through your employer. I don’t think $170 is bad at all, but then again I see some people who pay hundreds more! What I look for with health insurance is a lower deductible, out of pocket max, copays, etc. Most employers (that I work with at least) offer a few different options for plans/coverage. Some have a higher out of pocket max, but you’ll pay a lower premium monthly, and some low out of pocket with a higher premium. Best thing is to just compare your options and find what works best for your budget/health.

I pay $99 a month for blue cross blue shield and that covers medical, dental and vision as long as the places are in network. I work at a grocery store it’s insane how goof my insurance is. $25 copay most places but sometimes no copay.
