Where is your Oct18 LO with potty/toilet training?

Question

If you’re currently training, how is it going? How long have you been at it?
For those fully trained, what method did you use? How long did it take? What we’re the signs your child was ready?

My LO sometimes says when he has a #2 but more often than not it’s me asking him when I notice the smell or notice his signs that he is going- sometimes he says yes but sometimes he says no even when he has- I think usually to avoid having to get changed!

Right after my son turned 1 he was interested in what i was doing when i went potty. I figured he was too young and my mom was kind of lecturing me on how it was too early so i decided to wait. However, he kept wanting to sit on the potty. After sitting him on there a couple times he peed in there and got super interested. I bought him a potty and just kind of let him figure it out at his pace. He started understanding it and learning to control his bladder. At around 18/19 months he started telling me he needed to potty (not all of the time). Now at 21 months as long as he is naked he will pee and poop in the little potty all day without me asking him and without an accident. We are currently trying to get him to understand the difference between a diaper and underwear. He knows he can potty in the diaper, but doesn't understand that he's not allowed to potty un underwear. Plus he loves to be naked so i can't keep a diaper or underwear on him for anything 😂 I think he wanted to potty train simply because if he had an accident i would put a diaper on him and he would much rather be naked 🤷‍♀️

My LO doesn't vocalize when she has to use the bathroom, she just goes to the potty when she has to go. She's starting to go sit on the potty even when she has a diaper on. We're trying to show her that she needs to pull her panties and/or pants down when she has to use the potty. Peeing in her panties doesn't even phase her.

She’ll sit on the toilet and has peed on it a few times, and she’ll tell us when she needs to go #2 and sometimes #1, but she isn’t consistent with using the toilet. I’m 28 weeks with our second, so I’m hoping she moves right along with it so it’s a tiny bit easier when the second arrives in September! 😬

We are beginning potty training this weekend. We ordered thick toddler underwear & plastic underpants to go on top. 
LO is now to the point where he tugs at his diaper if he goes #2 (he scratches & itches) and also if his diaper is wet, he will take it off. Recently, he took a #2 diaper off & tried to wipe himself 🥴🥴🥴 
I think he’s fully ready — he acknowledges he doesn’t want to be wet or stinky.

We are using a method called EC, we’ve been doing it since she was 2 months old. She is 18 months old and without diapers now. She stays dry during most of our outings but it’s when we’re home and she’s busy playing that she forgets and goes in her underwear. She always says it right after she’s gone and she is just beginning to say pipi before she actually needs to go. I know her usual time for BM so I get all of her poopies in the potty which is a breeze!
