Do you tip photographers?

I’m sorry if it’s a stupid question. It’s just something I thought about in the shower today 😅 I get my maternity pictures done tomorrow and she’s providing the milk for the milk bath, the flowers, and dress. Just in general, are you supposed to tip them? Have you or have you not? This is my first time ever getting pictures done so I don’t know lol.

Well. I don't know exactly. But I woulad think it is a part of service and assume it is already in the price asked.

A private photographer no. They don’t expect tips, the general thing to do if you like their photos is to buy their prints. They get money from prints as well. 
A photographer through a company however, yes. If you go through JCPenney or a company with multiple photographers then you should tip.

I haven't for normal shoots but did dor my wedding. I think it jusy depends on the situation

No. My photographer that I use charges “so much” for newborn pictures because she wraps the baby up in multiple outfits and if the baby poops or pees in them it’s already covered by the fee I’m paying. Same with the dresses I wear if I decide to wear them in the ocean or it accidentally rips. But I do bring my photographer a coffee 😜

If it's a private photographer, no! Because the whole wage goes directly to them minus taxes. Of course it's still to cover other things but they're not having to pay another conpany part of the fee.

I’ve never tipped a private photographer, however like suggested I do buy prints off of them. My photographer even suggested “better” places to print photos compared to using Walmart, ect but I still chose to just buy through her because the prices weren’t all that different and I’m still supporting her. Also sharing the photos with tagging them in it, sharing their page on social media, ect. Give great credit where credit is due.
