Life Insurance?

Question

Well we’re on to baby #2, we probably should have gotten something before. But now I feel like it’s necessary. I have a small amount from my time with the Army but not enough! If it matters I’m 24 and my husband is 34. 
How much do you pay? Any recommendations on who to go through?

We have life insurance through USAA. Highly recommend them for all things insurance.

I used to sell life insurance. There are two different kinds policies. One that last your whole life or term policies that are cheaper with higher value rates but only last x amount of years. 
I always said for younger healthy couples to do a term policy for the beginning you can get like half a million for $20. You could always do a smaller whole life policy with the term policy to begin with to get your health stats locked in and up the value on the whole life policy later in life. 
I wish I had better info on who to go through but it’s been years since I’ve sold it. Whole life policies vary on price on the amount you want and your health. I’d give you a guess but it would probably be inaccurate.
