Formula bottle before bed?

My baby is EBF but I have read that giving a bottle before bed can help her sleep. She's 6 weeks and sometimes wakes up every hour screaming for food. Has anyone else tried this?

I used to give mine a bottle of breast milk before bed and she would and still sleeps anywhere from 6-8 hours straight at night

I had a delay in my milk coming in. She always has longer time between feeds when formula on board. I think it is harder to digest than breast milk and made her feel full longer. You may get more gas issues though until your baby adjusts.

I had a delay in my breast milk due to the hospital forcing birth control on me which slowed my milk production. Ive had to supplemental feed my son with formula. Formula is more filling. I breastfeed, give my son pumped milk and formula to fill him.

I was having a really hard time with breastfeeding at first and started giving her a bottle of breast milk before bed. Now we're have just continued it and she sleeps much better when we know she's drinking a full 4 oz.

I had a problem with milk supply, so had to give formula for a while until established. I still give a bottle of formula at night, and she sleeps for at least 4 hours after. I pump after she's fed, and my partner gets up at 5am to feed that.

When I switched my son to formula around 11 months we noticed no change to his sleep at all

I tried this with my two oldest and saw no noticable difference. The formula didn't stay any longer and it ended up tanking my milk supply. I've never bothered for any of the others. I think it just depends on the baby. I had one that only slept 2 hours for 2 years no matter what I did and a baby that sleeps 6-9 hours on nothing but breast milk.

I have ebf 3 babies now and never needed to give a bottle of formula to get them to sleep overnight. I’ve used On Becoming Babywise with all 3 of my kids and they’ve all started sleeping through the night by 6-7 weeks
