The problem with many small businesses
So one of my favorite privately owned boutiques in my area are having a sale. Guys!
Newborn footed sleeper:

Just two examples up above.
These are selling at Walmart and Carter’s for half of that, maybe even a little less. Same style, material, etc.
I love supporting small businesses where I can but I’ve noticed their prices are almost always abundantly higher than a huge chain (like Walmart, target). I do know that the chains get discounts from the suppliers because they buy huge amounts but holy crap I have no idea why so many small businesses have prices this high. I’m sure it also depends on your area but what are your thoughts? Do you guys shop local and possibly pay a little more or do you always stick with chains?
