*I understand people might not agree with this, but I'm ranting because I have no one to talk to about it*

So, because of what is happening in America, I have been doing a lot of localised protesting, donating, sending emails and making phone calls. I'm not saying that for a "Well done!" or anything, but just because it's relevant to the story. My boyfriend and I were having a conversation about how my mum doesn't agree with George Floyd's murderer being arrested and I said "ACAB" to him and he IMMEDIATELY got mad at me. He said I was a part of the problem and that I'm "no better than the racists that kill black people, because I'm antiprogressive and bigoted because not all cops are bad". I explained to him that ACAB means all cops are bastards, not bad. What that means is that they're corrupt for 1. Using their power to often inflict violence on people and 2. Supporting the corrupt system. He continued to call me a "racist" because I don't support the system. I said thats not what racism is to which he sent me the definition of racism but told me to change the word "race" to "occupation" which really hurt me as he changed the definition of racism to suit me and I'm a big advocate of the Black Lives Matter movement. I support and understand his beliefs, and it's not the first time he's belittled mine. I got angry and told him I needed a break from him. The next day he replied with "This is stupid 😂 I miss your dumbass, so let's just leave this" which I didn't get because he really hurt me and didn't apologise for it. He doesn't need to compromise his beliefs, but he needs understand that I have my own that are separate to his. I've let it go now, but it still didn't feel good and I'm upset that he said those things to me. I tried my best to be civil but when he branded me with a definition he made to fit me, I couldn't be his kind little Cassie anymore. I'm Irish, he's Welsh. We've argued about Irish politics and history and he's belittled that too even though its who I am. He has denied me my history and doubts my facts. I love him completely but it really does hurt.

Sorry if this sounds whiney, I'm not trying to piss anyone off here it's just me ranting. Thanks for reading if you made it this far.
