NT scan ??

Hey ladies i want to know that a NT scan is necessary? is it really important? please help me ?

My office offered them as optional for women under 35 and the low risk. 
I did go ahead and get it done, they sent me to a maternal fetal specialist to do it. As they are more trained and have better machines. 
At my appointment they didnt just look at the back of the neck, they also looked for major organs, a brain, and basically made sure there were no lethal defects. 
So really it's up to you and how you feel. I just personally wanted to do this early because I knew what I would do depending on the outcome and I didnt want to wait to find out at a 20 week anatomy scan. (Fortunately alls well in my case).

I never do genetic testing of any kind, def not necessary. But for many can give you peace of mind

Optional but this pregnancy they changed the scan to blood work because of covid. 
Still so happy I got it done. 
At my anatomy scan baby has an enlarged kidney and that can be a soft matker for down syndrome,  though I already took the NT scan to determine i was very low tisk for DS so it helped immediately put my mind more at ease.

No. It is not nessecary, if you don't want any extra ultrasounds done.
You can replace NT ultrasound with a blood test, nipt for genetical marrkers. They do the nt scan to measure the neck fold, if it is too large, then they will do further testing, as it is a sign of genetical disorder.
