Do you think it's best if baby stays home for the first year?

I used to think that I should stay home with my baby for at least the first year. But now I'm not sure. I don't feel like a good mom because I'm always exhausted. Maybe she would be better off getting stimulated at daycare.

It turns out, I don’t like babies. I love my daughter, but babies, and especially newborns, suck. For me, it was much better to go back to work and have someone who is better handling newborns watch my daughter. My babysitter taught my daughter how to nap outside of someone’s arms. Taught we her how to be okay with not being held constantly. My daughter gets to be social (and so do I at work). I was able to be a much better mother when I wasn’t constantly stressed about a baby that always cried.

Personally yes because I don’t trust anybody lol and when they’re so young they can’t tell you if anyone is hurting them. So if there is a choice then i choose to stay home with baby.

It depends on the family. Some people are amazing stay at home parents and enjoy the heck out of it. Other people enjoy being a working parent. I enjoy working. I had my baby home from birth to 12 weeks and again 9 months to 12 months because of the lockdown, and both times I was about to lose my freaking mind.

The first 3-5 years are so important when it comes to baby’s development and creating healthy bonds between baby and his/her parents. So I personally will be keeping my girls home until they’re at least 3. Our oldest just turned 3 last week and will probably start preschool once COVID blows over more. Our youngest was also born last week and will absolutely be home until she’s at last 3 years old as well.

That simply wasn’t a choice financially for us, so I didn’t even consider it 🤷🏼‍♀️ I took as much time as I could and then went back. He settled into daycare just fine, and we have a solid routine down.

There’s no need for a baby to go to daycare for social reasons until they are at least 2. But, if you need to work, or need a break from baby, daycare is a great solution!
