Calling police on neighbors?
So kind of a long story but our neighbors moved in a month or so ago but we’ve never seen or met them since we have an opposite schedule from most people since we’re up at night but asleep during the day. So for the past week they’ve been fighting everyday. the guy seems to be saying he’s going to leave her and she saying if he does she will stab herself and I’ve heard a baby crying that sounds like a new born to one month old. So it’s been her banging and yelling and him staying calm usually and I’ve put off calling the police cause you know it doesn’t sound like the babies in trouble or anything. But tonight I heard stuff being thrown and breaking and banging and her screaming saying “give me my money!” “Get your hands off me” so I finally called the police they show up not even 10 mins later as I can still here them in their bedroom fighting (it’s apartments) so anyways police show up knock on the door and asking them questions and he’s like oh ya we were making loud noises but we’ve been calm for like half an hour and then the police you know are like oh okay and the neighbor was bringing up black lives matter and saying that’s why the people probably called is because they’re black. And I hear this and I’m kind of just like shocked because no the reason I called is because it’s been a week of middle of the night yelling and they’re baby screaming and her threatening to kill herself and banging and smashing. Now it’s been 10 mins after the police left and now they’re outside fighting and the girls slapping him and telling him to give her back her stuff.
So I don’t know what to do cause I don’t want people thinking the reason I called is because they’re black. Because I do believe BLACK LIVES MATTER! And if it wasn’t for me being pregnant I would be out there protesting to! But I just can’t help but worry about the baby you never know what happens in the heat of the moment. Especially when things are being thrown. Like if it gets bad again do I call the police or just stay out of it. I know them fighting isn’t any of my business. But as a mom to be I’m worried for the baby. What do you all think?
