I’ve heard this a few times especially from the older generation. Of course you shouldn’t have to look, but when they say that, it means men are going to cheat or be disrespectful towards the relationship so just ignore it.

I could very likely search my husband's phone and whatever else top to bottom and the most upsetting thing I'd find is the prices of his dream boat. 
He could do the same to me and the most upsetting thing he'd find is like..how much I online window shop
Not everyone is hiding things from thier spouse, rather they look or not 🤷🏼‍♀️

I disagree. If he's not up to anything you're not going to find something. Not all men cheat, that's silly. 
Now I wouldn't go looking because I trust my husband and also respect this privacy.

I disagree. If you look, you are for sure going to find something that bothers you. Like maybe not cheating, but something else. Or at least you look so much, that you get paranoid about things. And well, it is not good. Trust your man.
