Fasting from sex

So my boyfriend and I have been together for almost two years. We live together and since March 2020. We haven’t been having sex that much maybe like once a week. Because he said he’s either tired or not in the mood. But we usually have sex maybe like two times a week. So a couple of days ago my boyfriend said that he wants to “fast from having sex.” I asked why he said “sex is a distraction and he wants to get himself right within himself.” I said “okay.”
