My bf told his dad he is tired of me

Today I had some family over and my boyfriend was talking to his parents on the phone in the room. We argued a little and my son was walking ahead of me and he closed the door before I got out my bf thinking I was out of the room I over heard him say to his dad that he is tired of me . I agree we have been arguing a lot lately but it honestly broke my heart hearing him say that . He said it so serious he told his dad he is tired of me . So then my son walked in and I looked at my bf and told him that I couldn’t believe he was saying that and he was saying that he did not mean it and that he loves me but now idk I am so confused
