What’s his problem?

Question

Is anyone else’s SO less than enthused during your pregnancy? I say my back is killing me, he says “that’s no good.” I’ve bought everything for her so far, he never talks about the baby or prepping for her and never wants to touch my bump. 
Is it just me overreacting and being sensitive?
EDIT: And the whole “we’ve got plenty of time before she’s here” could make me smack him. LOL

I think this is kind of common. Dads don’t really bond the way we do until the baby is here.

My SO isn't as enthused as I'd like him to be by he has been touching my belly trying to feel her kicks he's just not able to feel them yet. Idk I think as others have said they just aren't as connected to the baby as we are it not real for them yet, even for me it didn't become really real until I had my anatomy scan and got to see her

Same here. These comments make me feel better though. He felt the baby kick for the first time last night and was like “yeah I felt it” like what😅 where’s the excitement?! I’m like “I can’t wait to set up the nursery” and he’s like “yeah” like uhh? 🙄. I asked him why he doesn’t seem more excited & he was pretty hurt I said that. I wasn’t trying to be rude, I just felt like he could show more enthusiasm. I haven’t said anything since bc I don’t want to hurt his feelings lol. But I know things will change once the baby is here. But it would be nice to share some excitement.

My husband was bad about this too with our first. Every time I’d say something hurts or I’m queasy or anything like that at all, he’d say, “well that’s just part of it.” Yeah, it is. Thanks. Lol he’s a great dad and has gotten better with each pregnancy. Guys just have a hard time feeling part of the pregnancy and I really think they just don’t know what to say or do to help. Babies are just theoretical to them until birth.

Mine is like that but he said talking about it makes him
Nervous. He doesn’t know how to handle a baby because he was the baby in his family. I have gotten a chance to have some practice with my 2 nieces so I feel pretty comfortable with it, but I’m also having a boy and i haven’t really had to take care of a little boy before so I’m kinda nervous too😅

A lot of dads have a hard time connecting with the baby when they’re not born yet. You’re already connected to her, you feel her and talk to her and she’s a part of you. He doesn’t have any of that yet. Just give him some time.
