Mid cycle cramping and bleeding

My period was 2 weeks ago, and im not due again for another 15 days. My periods are very regular.

Last night at work I started cramping a bit and when I got home I noticed some dark spotting when I wiped.

I'm on birth control but my mind immediately went to ovulation bleeding.

This morning, I pulled my pants down to go pee, and blood came splattering out onto the floor, and there was a little more on my underwear and on my vagina, and more when I wiped.

I'm worried. What could this be?

As far as I know, I'm not pregnant and I take my birth control every night with the rest of my meds, never miss it unless I have it with me. In that case, I take 2 in the same night.

I'm now cramping more and I'm confused. I feel a little ridiculous calling my doctor but I'm kinda worried. This has never happened before.
