Does the IV have to be inside u the entire time u give birth ?

Sorry this is my first pregnancy and im so scared of birth to be honest..😖😭😕im cringing so much about the IV needle in ur arm ???? The entire time? And doesnt it hurt so bad ?the pain in you?   When do u take out the needle????? Like what...😫😫😫😰😰😥😥🤯🥺

The needle doesn’t stay in you, it’s a plastic part but yes it stays in the whole time. Doesn’t hurt at all.

They don’t hurt once they remove the needle from the catheter. Then there’s a soft flexible tube left in the vein. IVs are very importantly keep you hydrated and to give any meds you need so you don’t have to be poked many times. You can always ask your nurse to demonstrate the IV for you so you can see the little plastic tube.

It really depends. I have an IV in the whole time because I was induced, so they needed it for pitocin and fluids. 
It wasn't bad. They put the needle in, but they tape the tube down on your arm so it's not going to fall out or get caught or anything. After delivery they kept the tube in until I was discharged in case they needed to get something in me asap. But since I wasn't hooked up, it was just taped down on my arm, nbd.

The needle comes out and a plastic piece is left behind. You won’t feel it though the tape holding it in place may pull your skin or hair. That’s usually all I feel when I have an iv.

Have you never had an IV? It isn’t painful at all. I had one for 3 days straight before. Slept with it, showered with it... that’s the least of your worries. Lol

Hehe IV do not hurt. And like someone else said your vagina and abs will be taking all your pain receptors you wont feel anything about the IV fluid

It also depends not every where they give you an IV I didn't get one last time.
