(TW:Suicide) My mom was the last to see a man alive, where do we go from here?
On Sunday morning my mom drove over a bridge near our house and saw a man tying something. She thought it was a protest sign but sadly this was not the case and the man hung himself. My mom found out later that day what had happened and is completely destroyed by it. She is blaming herself because she believes she could have stopped him if she had followed her first instinct and pulled over. My question is, how do I best help her heal from this? I talked to my dad who had something kind of similar happen and he said he would talk to her but I don’t know if there’s something I should be doing. Should I just sit down and tell her I’m here for her or should I do something to try and cheer her up like getting her flowers and reminding her how much she means to me? I don’t want to over step so any advice is helpful, thank you and remember you all are loved very much. ❤️
Edit: One other thing is I would like to bring flowers to the bridge. I want to ask my mom if she’d like to come with me but I’m worried that will be to much for her. If she doesn’t want to go, do you think it would be appropriate for me to go alone? I really don’t want to over step and end up causing her more pain.
