Excessive Bleeding

Hi ladies! I had my nexplanon removed a week ago (while I was on day 6 of my period, hoping it would not start my cycle over). I experienced horrendously long and heavy periods with it. Am currently on Day 13 of my period and it is showing no signs of stopping. I didn’t want to be put on birth control so my body could go back to where it naturally was. Called the doctors office and they said it’s normal on removal to bleed that much and that long, and the only way to make the bleeding stop is to be put on birth control. I was really not wanting to be, so does anyone have any advice on what to do?
