MIL weirdness

Okay to start off I’ve never had a super close relationship with my mother in law. I’ve been married 6 years. I’ve tried and been willing to go do things with her but she will do things like take my SIL for a pedicure and then tell me about it afterwards like “you should have come”. I love pedicures but I never get invited, just told about it after the fact. She never comes when we’ve invited her to go do things with us and the only time we were almost one on one was a dinner I went to with my sister in law who then felt bad she hadn’t invited her mom so she invited her too.

Anyways I had my first baby 8 months ago - she’s seen him a total of 5 times including the visit in the hospital. She lives 10 minutes from us, but Every time she comes to “see him” she just talks about herself, which is annoying but whatever. When he sat up for the first time we were trying to tell her about it and she just started talking about some random person she knows (we don’t) and their teenage kid who one time did something, I don’t even know because I stopped listening.

Anyways the weird part is that without fail every time we see her she asks me about my csection scar - my birth was traumatic but I’ve never talked about it to her so she has no idea. But she always brings up my scar or asks about my scar and then before I can say anything she goes well do you want to see mine??

Why would I want to see anyone’s forget hers?? Like I barely know this woman and she damn sure doesn’t know me. I’ve never complained about it or said anything about it to her she brings it up and then I feel like she’s trying to like “my horse is bigger than your horse” me. Like I don’t care.

Does she want me to actually say yes?? I feel like I’m no more private than any other person out there but I feel like that’s so weird. Like is this what is going to bond us into the eternities the fact that we both have a scar? I have plenty of other scars we can talk about and some of them have cool stories!!

I don’t know am I reading too much into this?
