When to tell people?

I’m 3 weeks 5 days with baby #3. We’ve always told our parents super early on, friends around 6-8 weeks, and announced around 10 weeks. For some reason, I’m wanting to keep this one private for a while. All of our babies have been planned. I am super close with my Mom but I feel like once I slip it will be a slippery slope of telling people lol. Should we start telling people? Or maybe wait a while?

I think that telling people is totally a personal choice! I’m a firm believer that every life should be celebrated, but I personally only tell immediate family before 8-12 weeks. Then we tell extended family and friends. I had a miscarriage with my first and I had told all extended family and some friends. It was great to have the support so I don’t regret it! I just wouldn’t want to get everyone’s hopes up again.

I could have written this question myself. We are also pregnant with #3. First 2 were planned with fertility meds and 3rd is a complete surprise to us. We have decided to keep it a secret as long as possible. We are going tell our parents sometime in August and not going to tell friends or put anything on Facebook until at least 20 weeks. We have also decided to not find out the gender of this one. I think it is perfectly fine to wait and tell people.

Lol it is all subjective. We lost our first before telling anyone. Told people at 12 weeks with our first boy. Then 20 weeks with our second and then our third we didn’t announce until 32 weeks. This time. I don’t know. Probably won’t announce at all and be like surprise assholes! Lol because everyone has to have something to say about my reproduction abilities.
