Is $100 too much to spend on a Father’s Day gift?

So I found a jacket that I personally love and have a feeling my boyfriend would also love but it’s $100.  I know for Mother’s Day he got me a shirt that was around $30 but Mother’s Day was also 2 days after my bday so that’s a lot in one month.  I’m on the fence about what to buy.  Do I spend the extra on something really nice or do I try to fond something a little cheaper.  I know gifts and money aren’t super important but I do want to get him something he will like.
