Scientific research has proven that most of the internal organs and systems of a fetus are fully developed by the second trimester.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ One of the first human anatomical systems to start fully functioning is the auditory system. Hence, even before the hair grows on their scalps, or they open their eyes to see, these little unborn babies can hear.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ And what is it that they hear first? The sounds inside the mother’s body, as well as those outside. The sound that they predominantly hear, most loudly and clearly until they are born, is their mother's voice.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Moreover, these days expectant parents are being encouraged to talk directly to their unborn child as much as possible, and to sing nursery rhymes to it. Parents are also encouraged to make the unborn baby listen to specific kinds of music in order to enhance their intellectual skills in the future.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ With all this being said, is there a better sound than the Quran for a baby to hear? And this is no ordinary sound but is the word of Allah SWT himself! So if an expecting mother recites the Quran, her unborn baby will hear the divine sound and it will have all the positive effects on the baby as well as the mother, especially during a phase when they share an exclusive and extremely close physical bond!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I have personally witnessed the effect of fetal Quran recitation on Bilal. There was an instance during the pregnancy, when Bilal was kicking a lot during night and I was unable to sleep. I then played the surah Rahman on my phone with a loud voice and as soon as I played it his kicks reduced! It was as if he calmed down to listen to the recitation carefully! It was beautiful! Alhamdulillah!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Also after he was born whenever he cried, I used to play surah Rahman and he would calm down!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ And even now whenever he hears a recitation of the Quran or something in Arabic being played on the TV, he stops all his play and goes near the tv to listen to it!
