Terrified I may have cervical cancer at 22😞
So back in December/January time I started having period related issues but I was 3 months postpartum so presumed my body was just trying to “level out” after what was a stressful pregnancy, birth and sadly ended in the loss of my daughter at 1 day old in NICU.
Well in January/February I had a 42 day period and docs decided to send me for a scan where they told me my uterus lining was thin and so the bleeding was not period related. I returned to the docs and they carried out some swabs to check for infections. These came back all clear. I also had a pelvic exam when she took the swabs and she noticed what she believed was cervical ectropion. But this still didn’t explain the excessive bleeding and cramping.
A month later I returned with the same issues and the doctor referred me to gynae.
With covid, my gynae appointment was cancelled and now I’m experience these symptoms:
Bleeding between periods
Bright red discharge
Lower abdominal pains
Brown discharge
Hot flushes
Nausea.
But the doctor won’t smear test me purely because of my age despite agreeing that if I was 25 she’d have me smear tested instantly due to these symptoms 😩 I’m absolutely terrified and just after some advice or suggestion to what the issue may be and if any one knows how I can be smeared at 22 🙌🏼🤷🏻♀️
Also: there’s a family history of cancerous cervical cells and I’ve heard that cervical ectropion can look similar to these cells.
