shaving legs

I hate shaving, and the last relationship I was in was a 2 year relationship and i got comfortable and did not shave. I recently started seeing someone new. we’re both in high school, though he’s younger; i still hate shaving but i am feeling self conscious about it. do most guys care about leg hair? should i shave for the first couple dates (they’re outdoors so i’m wearing shorts)
