Sims 3 Families

So I know it's not the Sims 4 but I'm poor lol, but regardless I'm trying to fill an unpopulated town with some interesting/unique families, some average ones as well, I have the pets expansion. I'm out of ideas for any I could do, anyone have any recommendations? Help a girl out lol
