How long should I wait before going to the hospital?

Hello!

FTM and I completely have eradicated the idea of epidural for my first birth and labor. My husband is my support system and is 100 percent my back bone. I’m 37 + 6, it can be any day now my baby boy arrives. My concern is I live anywhere from 30-45 minutes (no traffic - heaviest traffic time) from the birth center at the hospital. I don’t want to push it and give birth in the car or something might go wrong. What are some signs I should look for when it’s time to leave the house? I want to labor at home as much as possible. I do have a blood pressure machine to monitor my heart rate & the works. Ik all pregnancies aren’t the same and all advice helps.

Update: I had my son at 39+5 and I stalled at 5 1/2 cm so I had to have and epidural so I didn’t risk any infections. I still ended up with being placed on antibiotics. Birth Plans are meant to remain open and glad me and my newborn are healthy! ♥️
