Depo shot affect fertility?

I just read a post on twitter about how the depo shot can mess with your fertility. I was on the depo shot for almost three years when i was a teen and i had bled for a month when i first started taking it, and now i’m worried i might not be able to get pregnant because of it. I just wanna know some thoughts.

I was on the depo for a few months I had like 2 injections I believe? before I was over it.. it took me over a year (I stopped counting months so I can't remember exactly how long) to get pregnant with my oldest and I am absolutely convinced it was because of the depo shots I received.. I've also read it can usually take about a year for the shot to work it's way out of your system 🤷‍♀️ 
all I really know is the the depo is awful and I never recommend it to anyone!

I was on The depo shot for a year and a half I had my last shot August 1, 2018 and it took about two months for my period to regularly come back but me and my fiancé have been “trying” since I stopped the shot and still nothing yet.￼ I honestly blame it on the depo I think I’m still not ovulating properly

I was on the shot for about a year. I bled for the first month and then never had a period or spotting for the rest of the time. It scared me that it made my period completely stop (even though that’s really common) and so I stopped taking it. August was the first month that I missed getting the shot again and I didn’t get my period back for probably 3 months. After that, I had heaps of spotting and my period was irregular for another 3 months. About a year later, my boyfriend and I decided to start trying for a baby (I hadn’t been on another form of birth control since the shot...we just used condoms so my body could regulate) and I actually got pregnant our first cycle trying. I’ve heard horror stories about infertility surrounding depo so I was concerned too, but that was not the case for me. It definitely took a while to regulate again, but I’d say once you do then you’re probably in the clear. Try not to worry too much! I don’t think it has been formally studied well enough to back the infertility claim.
