Does anyone sell on Etsy?? Do make money?

Need to find a way to earn some cash and looking into selling on Etsy. Just wondering if anyone has experience? Do you make money? Is Etsy easy to use? Also do I need liability insurance? Like if someone were injured while using my product ect...they can sue me so I’m guessing I need some type of insurance? What do you sell?? Thanks!!

If you're going to sell it needs to be something no ones else is doing or something with a unique spin. Forget anything knit, crochet, jewelry, or stuff like that.

I’ve sold on Etsy for three years, it’s very easy to use, but does take time to get your name out. When you do start your shop, just be ready to advertise yourself, or at least be ready to tell all your friends- the more clicks and views you get, and sales, the more you pop up in searches to my understanding. For me, it’s my side hustle, and my product is greeting cards, so lots of competition and low price points to start. I make enough to buy new supplies to make more cards 🙃 It’s totally worth giving a try, and there are groups to help get those clicks/views for Etsy sellers so be sure to join some of those!

What are you planning to sell? I don’t believe you need liability insurance, that’s typically for people who own the building their business is in. There are all different kinds of insurances but selling a craft type item online typically wouldn’t require something like that. Like if they choke on an earring that’s not your fault lol

I sold vintage clothes on eBay, etsy, and Poshmark for awhile. I had some of my biggest sales (money wise) on Etsy because I think people are willing to pay a little bit more on there. I did it for 3 years and it was my only job. However, I don’t think I could have made it on Etsy alone (all though tons of people do!) for me I needed more platforms (eBay, posh) to really make a living for myself. Good luck💗
