Do they feed you in hospital?

Question

I’m due any day now and just wondering if you get fed any food during/after labour? Everyone says bring snacks but I have GD so struggling to find easy and convenient that won’t spike me. I know I probably won’t want to eat during full on labour but I’m sure after I’ll be starving! Also, would my husband be given any?

Of course they give you food (when you can eat again) you get breakfast lunch and dinner 
No they don’t feed your partner especially as they are only allowed in for active labour  unless you get a nice midwife they might give them a sandwich but most cafes are open in hospital again so he can go get food from there x

In Scotland my husband was in around 1am Monday morning and didn't leave until I had the baby on the (24th june) Wednesday around 2am. We had to stay in the room and couldn't leave. He got fed when I did. We both got transferred up to maternity ward and they provided a bed for him all set up. They couldn't have been more providing and kept asking if we wanted teas and toasts or shoving loads of snacks on a tray. I took pictures of all the snacks etc they gave lol. I'll upload them 😃

I was given like 10 slices of toast and jam instantly after delivery 😋

That was just snacks or supper. I had breakfast lunch and dinner too.

I didn’t get fed during labour and I went in at 6cm dilated (after being in labour for 3 days and not eating anything!!) I was in at 8am in my own room at 12pm, could eat my own snacks but had one jelly baby and couldn’t stomach anything else. Gave birth at 5.45pm then got some toast at about 8.00pm (2 sixes. Didn’t cut it at all!) 🤣 take something for after that’s my advice!

When I went I took so many snacks which I was able to eat until I had a epidural and drip as you can only have clear liquid I was allowed small quantities of the purple isotonic drinks and them they bring you roast and tea after but once everything started eating was the last thing I wanted to do didn't get a appetite for food till about 6 hours after birth

I'm in Northern Ireland and got toast and tea as soon as I gave birth, I was still in the delivery room as I was waiting on a bed on the ward. After I got put on the ward a nurse came over to ask me if I'm still hungry but I wasn't as I had some snacks too. I then got given a small menu to hand them back for the next day, i had different options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. About 4 different meals for each time of the day.  There was a different person walking with a cart full of tea na docffee and toast offering it to anyone who wanted some.

My husband wasn't given any food at all. But I was induced over two days and was fed until I hit active labour. They forbade me to eat or drink anything in case I needed a csection. Which obviously led to me needing a csection. How they think women would have the strength to go through labour without any food or drink for 16+ hours is beyond me.

They do provide food (for you) but it’s TERRIBLE! Bring snacks and get any visitors to bring you food!

I got 3 meals a day and plenty of tea and biscuits, I’m dairy free and they didn’t cater for that, I just had to pick and choose what I could eat. 
Pre Covid-19 I was in for 5 days and my partner stayed the whole time, they didn’t give him any food or tea! He spent a lot of money at the m&s at the hospital.
