Off topic discussion about Neighbors

I have two female neighbors. My husband, 18 month old and I live two apts away from them on the same floor. Two years ago when we moved in I said hello to them on two separate occasions and they stared at me and didn’t say a word. That’s why I tried a second time. They did the same thing.

Fast forward two years later they’re posting signs about someone throwing raw garbage down the garbage chute. It isn’t us but today I walked out and they were talking to our neighbor. A gentleman who has been really nice to us.

As soon as I came out with my son they got quiet. Then I got off my phone call and they started talking about how “people are not disposing their garbage correctly”.

I don’t know why it’s bothering me so much but it’s hurtful bc I’ve done nothing to these ladies. My husband and I are extremely considerate of the building, noise, cleanliness and we have a good rapport with many people in the building.

I just find it mean and I can’t really do anything about it. I would like to tell them they should call management on whoever they have seen throwing raw garbage down the chute.

Again, I know this is childish but I don’t know why they would passive aggressively talk out loud while I was leaving.

Just venting but if you have any tips on I don’t even know what. Please let me know. Just feeling bullied right now. Thank you
