For moms due the first week of July...

I’m due July 6th and my doctor has repeatedly brought up induction since 38 weeks. I don’t have any health issues but today I told him I’d like to go to at least 40 plus 5 and he seemed shocked. He acted like it was kind of outlandish for me to expect to not be induced before that date. I guess what confuses me is in my first pregnancy my doctor wouldn’t even consider an induction until 41 weeks or later. Has anyone scheduled an induction right around your due date or does tour doctor wait until 41 weeks or later for inductions? He told me at the appointment today (39 plus 1 today) that we would be meeting baby next week and I’m due Monday.
