My induction story.
5:30 p.m on the 29th I went to the hospital when I was supposed to and my cervix was still closed so at 6:30 they inserted this pill called Cytotec into my cervix (not fun by the way) and did it every 4 hours until 10:30 am. At 10:30 they inserted the foley balloon and they had to remove it because It was causing him stress. After they took that out I just rested for a while because it wasn’t doing anything and I was dilated at all. I was having some cramps and they were just mild but I went ahead and got an epidural. My nurse checked me and I was dilated at a 3 from the balloon. At 3, she started pitocin and that caused my baby’s heart rate to drop so she stopped it and gave me a shot to make my contractions slow down. I also had to lay with a peanut ball for 45 mins on each side and that still did nothing to dilate me and it was uncomfortable so I asked my nurse to stop. Eventually at 4:30 p.m on the 29th my dr came in and told me I was barely making progress and she wanted to do a C section because baby wasn’t having the contractions and he was in distress all day. I ended up getting a c section and he was born at 5:05. C section was wonderful, i’m so glad I did it. Sorry if there’s some points in my story that don’t make sense. I’m all drugged up. But i’ve been told my whole pregnancy that my baby was huge and at 36 weeks he was 7 pounds 14 oz. Well when he was born at 38 weeks he was only 8 pounds 5 oz. So don’t stress about ultrasound size ladies! It can be wrong! 💙
