Stretchy mucus- like discharge at 23W

I’m pregnant with my 2nd and yesterday noticed a very stretchy mucus discharge that I wasn’t expecting until very late when I’m close to my due date. With my first pregnancy, I only saw that when my mucus plug dislodged. I went to the hospital to get some reassurance or get my cervix checked but nothing like that happened. My country is not the best place to have pre-term labour because of our poor medical facilities. Anyone experienced something similar and had their doctor tell them it’s normal?
