Egg Retrieval Results

Hi ladies, so I had my ER yesterday.

Going into it I had at least 25 follicles seen. When I woke up, my husband told me they got 16 eggs. In my post anesthesia delirium (and the fact that I really wanted at least 20 eggs) I told him that the other 4 were stolen by the black panther (the animal not the movie character) and that he had to go steal them back bc the black panther is not funny like the pink panther lol (this was all caught on camera for later amusement).

Anyhoo, were waiting all morning for the embryologist to call. Because we are dealing with MFI we were told to expect a 50% fertilization rate so we have been doing the numbers thing all morning. finally got the call from the embryologist. She said out of 16 eggs only 12 were mature, and I was super disappointed with this. But the good news is that 11/12 fertilized!! I’m obviously very happy with that but still sad I didn’t have more eggs to try fertilizing. Anyways, I’m really hoping that we have a good number to biopsy on day 5/6. Your thoughts and prayers really are appreciated 😊
