Has anyone had some of their eggs fertilize later than the other?

Day 1 I got the call that 6/10 were fertilized. My doctor told me there’s a possibility some, none, or all of the remaining 4 could still fertilize and start dividing. Just looking to see if this has ever happened to anyone, did anyone else ever experience late fertilization?

Yes! On my first day I only had 11/16 mature so they attempted to fertilize those and only 6 fertilized, but on the second day the remaining 5/16 matured and they were able to fertilize all of those, so we had a total of 11/16 successfully fertilize and 9 of those made it to freeze. I didn’t realize it was possible to have eggs mature/fertilize late until it happened to us!

I did! My embryologist said 8 fertilized normally and 4 were “not normal” but still in the process. I am assuming she meant that they were just late bloomers. She said that there’s a good chance they could turn out to be normal blasts!

We had 3 fertilised on day 1 and the clinic thought the 4th one didn’t fertilise but then on the day 3 check we got a surprise to say that the 4th had fertilised, but when we got to the day 5 it was looking a bit touch and go with the 4th one so they transferred 2 of the 3 that were fertilised on day 1 and left the extra one for another day to see what happened.... it ended up being the best quality embryo we had in all of the cycles we had completed and now I am 7 weeks pregnant with that little slow starter! So I think sometimes they take a bit of time but like the old saying great things take time! Good luck for your ones!!!
