Do you think some people take the Coronavirus pandemic TOO seriously?

I have been taking it seriously of course, socially distancing and wearing a mask when in a store. I have a friend though who has been non stop panicking about it since March. She will even wear a mask outside taking a walk hundreds of feet away from anyone. She is a teacher and going back to school next month and her county isn’t making her kindergarten students wear masks so she has decided she will just forbid them from getting near her. I told her they will find that traumatizing and cruel because they are only 5 but she is so panicky about getting sick that she doesn’t care. A police officer recently wanted to ask her a question about a crime she witnessed and since he wasn’t wearing a mask she told him to get away from her and that she would be reporting him. Do you think this is taking it a little overboard? I realize it is a serious pandemic but I feel like she is being really extra about it.
