Ovulation testing

Hi everyone I need help. I started to use the ovulation test last mth but I’m a bit confused. The app is saying I ovulated on the 3rd but my LH level is berly going up so does that mean I haven’t ovulated yet? I’m just trying to understand how the whole ovulating testing works.
