When could you walk

Question

When were you able to take walks again? Gave birth Friday and I can go like a block. I honestly don’t remember when I could take nice walks and push the stroller etc last time. Thanks!

I walked comfortably at 3 weeks PP. I attempted to walk a little before 2 weeks and I think it was too much because my bleeding picked up a bit and I was really sore down there.

I think we went for our first short walk about 1 week pp. I had a vaginal delivery after 5 hours of pushing with a 3rd degree tear. 
I was SO exhausted after that very short walk (same with going up a flight of stairs). I’m now two weeks pp and can go twice as far without being nearly as tired after. 
It’s a process for sure. Recovery is different for everyone so don’t push it. If you feel ready, give it a go. But don’t be too hard on yourself if it’s not happening as soon as you want it to. We just went through a LOT to bring our babies into the world!

I went for shorter walks as soon as we were home from the hospital but my ribs and back were still hurting from labor. Became more comfortable a week or two PP when the soreness was improving

Glad to read this. 12 days pp, vaginal with 2nd degree. I can't imagine going for a walk yet. I'm still horribly sore down there and just go from the bed to the bathroom mostly. I feel better than week 1, but feeling down/guilty that I'm not able to do more yet.

I think it just all depends on your labor. 
With my first I  was in labor for 33 hours and pushed for about 30 mins. I was sore for a couple of days after. I had a one tiny internal tear but it wasn’t big enough to need stitches.
With my second I had a quicker labor only 10 hours and pushed not even 2 mins, no tears, the nurse even said I wouldnt swell up cuz of how quick he was out. I was up walking that day with no pain.

I took a walk on the third day of being home so five days postpartum I could only walk around my apartment building once before I had to sit down

I’m 1 month pp today and have been walking outside for a couple of weeks now. I did a 0.5 mile walk a few days pp from a normal vaginal delivery and it was terrible! A week later I was much better but kept things slower and shorter. I did a 4 mile walk and a 5 mile walk outside and that was too far. Now I can walk like I did pre-pregnancy on the treadmill and it’s great! I’m keeping my distances to 2-3 miles tho and working on speed and incline instead 😊
