Is clomid and metformin ok to take together?

I have pcos with insulin resistance, not sure I am ovulating completely, is it ok to combine both? Clomid to help me ovulate and metformin to help lower my high insulin?

I took both of them. I don’t have diabetes but my OBGYN stated that metformin side effect is fertility.
