Fussy baby - Formula issues

Claudia

Id like to start by saying im sorry for the long post but I'm frustrated and feeling a little hopeless.

My baby girl is 6 weeks today. And its been some frustrating times already with her formula. First its been frustrating since I wasn't able to breastfeed her. I was a bit sad but the same thing happened with my first born. So I wasn't so bummed that I had to formula feed. My first born which is a boy, took Enfamil formula, no problems at all. Now my baby girl, she was started with Similac Pro Advance at the hospital. Everything seemed okay was not having issues, but then the WIC center tells me they only offer Enfamil so I have to switch her. So I did. About 2 weeks or so i noticed she had a dot and I mean like a tiny tiny red dot in her poop but she was also getting fussy and colicky and was also spitting up more than usual. It happened twice with the poop then stopped. Other than that her poop was normal. I told her doctor and her doctor said she might have a milk allergy so she said to switch her to soy based formula. I had a gut feeling that it couldn't be that so I asked if I could try Enfamil Gentleease and was told yes but if blood came out again the soy was best. So I tried the gentleease. It was going well no fussing no gas. Until one day she threw up what seemed was an entire bottle which normally ranges from 3 to 4 oz. And I noticed that she was pooping the normal consistency but there was also like mucusy poop. Thats when I decided to do the soy formula. Well now we are at about over a week maybe almost 2 weeks and its a nightmare. She was doing fine at first but the last 2 to 3 days its been so bad. I feel like she is becoming constipated because she cries a little when she poops even tho it comes out really mushy like play doh like. On top of that she has become extremely and i mean extremely fussy where nothing can calm her down. I burp her all the time but that doesn't help either. I feel like the soy formula made things worse. And I feel like ever since she got switched to Enfamil everything went downhill. I know they say that sometimes the brand makes no difference but i feel like it does. I feel like she's in pain with the way she cries. I can't set her down anywhere anymore like I used to and I feel so bad for my baby. So I decided to try Similac Pro Sensitive. It says its for fussy, gassy babies who are lactose Sensitive. My gut and motherly instincts are telling me to stop the soy milk. But if I see that it doesn't help or things go a different route I'll definitely take her to the doctor. Its just so hard and frustrating specially with this pandemic since we are told that we only can do in person visits when its immunization time.

Again sorry for the long post but I had to vent and I would like to know if anyone else had experienced something similar.
